Examples of typical projects encountered at DESE are shown below and to the right of this page. SolidWorks is used to create 3D models and CAD. CAD drawings use GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2018. SolidWorks Simulation is used for FEA stress & deflection analysis. Engineering calculations are performed using MapleSoft mathematics software.

Designed subsea IPV's & card cages used for mounting electronics such as ATCA PCB's for the US Navy,

Sized steel and aluminum structural beams based on loading configurations & maximum allowable material yield stress.

Created CAD detail and assembly drawings of mechanical and structural designs. Validated these designs using FEA stress analysis. These designs included boat lifts, ocean floor sampling devices, IPV's, shipping container spreader beams, etc.

Calculated maximum allowable wind and ocean wave forces on offshore and onshore structures. Made modifications to these structures that enabled them to resist these forces.

Designed the BLAT, Riser Bore LMRP Test Tools, and Riser P-Line Test Tools for a manufacturing facility in Mobile Alabama.
